Tim Gannon, Co-Founder of Outback Steakhouse, Inc. is an extremely successful businessman, great sportsman and a staunch polo sponsor. He is the creator of the “Bloomin’ Onion” recipe, and many of the other dishes on Outback’s menu. An alumnus of Florida State University, he studied art history and dreamed of being a museum curator which took him to Florence, Italy, where he became a tour guide for an art gallery. He then went to Aspen, Colorado where he developed his passion for food and cooking. The French chef at the Four Seasons Hotel had offered to train him to be his assistant. Over the next 14 years he worked at Steak & Ale for Norman Brinker, and then Al Copeland hired Tim to help operate his Copeland’s Cajun Cafe’ in New Orleans. In 1987 Tim sold his saddle for $250.00 and arrived in Tampa with $37.00 in his pocket when Bob Basham and Chris Sullivan asked him to become their partner and launch a new restaurant concept that became known as Outback Steakhouse. In 2012 he started the South Florida Franchise of the new PDQ concept which was founded by his Outback partner, Bob Basham. PDQ (People Dedicated to Quality) is a fast casual restaurant specializing in hand-breaded chicken tenders, hand-tossed salads, sandwiches, fresh cut fries and hand spun milkshakes and malts. PDQ favorites are made with only the finest ingredients, all featuring sauces and dressings homemade everyday. From the very beginning, PDQ was founded on the concept that high-quality food, memorable service and genuine hospitality are the cornerstones to a great restaurant. The first PDQ restaurant officially opened on Sunday, October 30, 2011 across from Plant High School in Tampa, Florida. The Roasted Fig Chef Freddy Kunkel

Chef Freddy Kunkel was born and raised in Panama City, Panama in the melting pot of the Canal Zone culture. Growing up in a country with diverse cultures, he was exposed to a variety of cuisines including, Central American, Asian, and American foods. After 21 years in Panama, he left for Orlando, Florida to study Culinary Arts at Le Cordon Bleu. Soon after graduating, Chef Freddy moved to Fort Lauderdale to begin his culinary career at a few local fine dining restaurants, including the historic landmark, The River House, YOLO, and The Grateful Palate. While at The Grateful Palate, he earned his way up to Sous Chef, under the supervision and mentoring of Executive Chef Hector Lopez. Chef Freddy's work at The Grateful Palate included yacht provisioning, as well as extensive catering. Chef Krishna began his career at the Culinary Institute of Nepal where he studied the art of Thai and Royal Maghlai Indian cuisines. Upon graduation he traveled to the United Arab Emirates where he joined the Le Meridian Hotel Group in Abu Dhabi. There he began his training in the preparation of traditional French cooking techniques. After being recognized as a standout in 1995 he was awarded the prestigious Junior-Professional Chef, which is presented to a single chef in the country annually. In 1996 Chef Krishna’s talents took him to Hawaii where he joined the Maui Hyatt. While at the Hyatt he fine-tuned his culinary prowess in Italian, Chinese and Japanese cooking and preparation. He eventually moved to Los Angles to join the Hilton Group where he focused his time on learning and mastering the art of Pacific Rim cuisine. The Hilton Group was so impressed with his talents he was appointed as the Chef to their largest banquet hall on the Atlantic Coast in New York City. After mastering all these distinctive cuisines from around the globe, Chef Krishna started experimenting by using his plethora of cooking knowledge and techniques from different cuisines with traditional flavors and spices.
